PRESIDENT'S LETTER
AMY POSSIDENTE
DECEMBER 2021

The Holiday Park Neighborhood Association (HPNA) is delighted to debut this website on the 30th anniversary of our association.  Founded in 1991, HPNA is a volunteer group working to encourage communication, cooperation, and friendliness among residents, while maintaining awareness, security, and beauty in our community.  We decorate and maintain our medians, present beautification awards, send out newsletters, provide welcome baskets, plan social activities, serve as a liaison between the City and residents, and more.

Open neighborhood association meetings are held bi-monthly on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. at the J.W. Cate Recreation Center at Northwest Park.  Signs are posted throughout the neighborhood to promote meetings.

Holiday Park is in northwest Saint Petersburg, Florida.  The neighborhood is conveniently located near Tyrone Square Mall and within easy distance of multiple shops, retailers, and restaurants.  The Gulf Beaches are approximately 15-minutes away. And Northwest Community Center is within walking distance, offering a pool, tennis and pickleball courts, youth baseball and softball, and year-round recreational opportunities.  Residents of Holiday Park range from young families to retirees.

Development of homes in Holiday Park, most of which are one-story ranch-style, was begun by Frank Stumm in 1957.  In a promotion to sell homes in the mid-1960s, Stumm built several homes on 30th Avenue North which had unique designs, including a round home with an attached round garage.  Mr. Stumm also built a clubhouse, swimming pool and a small golf course.  The Elks Lodge acquired the clubhouse and swimming pool for use as a lodge, and the golf course has been developed.  You will learn more about Holiday Park’s interesting development in the History section of this website. “Every day is like a Holiday in Holiday Park,” says resident Bill Jolley, winner of our logo contest on Facebook.  And, though every day might be like a holiday, our neighborhood has a particularly strong history of decorating for the holidays.  An important recent component of the neighborhood’s holiday festivities is its golf cart parades, as many residents own golf carts.  Please see some of the photos of recent golf cart parade in the Photo Gallery section of the website.

HPNA welcomes you and hopes you will learn more about us and our neighborhood character as you navigate this website.

Sincerely, Amy Possidente
